I bought my Ford Cougar 2L
Zetec in April 1999, it was a descision of my feeling. I drove a VW Passat
Station Wagon for 8years and I finally bought a Coupe that looks different
then others and has also enough room for me (1.96m, 6feet5).
I've been a lot of times
to the USA and I love the american way of life.
My first Cougar experience
was in 1994. I had a 3.8L V6 Mercury Cougar XR7 as a rental car for months.
That one was cool but nothing for the german streets.
In 1998 I saw the new edge
Cougar the first time in the US and I wanted that car.
In 1999 I finally sold my
1995 Passat and bought this black Cougar. Well, here in germany the V6
Cougar costs a minimum of about $3000 more than a four Cylinder. So I decided
to get the 2L Zetec with 130HP. It's fast enough (209km/h) and more economic
than my old Passat (1.8L, 90HP).
I also got a lot of help
and tips from the NECO Homepage. There are more than 3000 members now and
we all keep exchange our experiences with the car, with modifications etc.
In 2000 I bought a
K&N Airfilter to improve the breathing of my cat and it was worth it.
I also visited STOFFLER
AUTOTECHNIK a great Tuning Company with a great Team. I can highly recommend
them as a good partner for Tuning stuff like Airfilter, Bodykits, single,
dual and quad exhausts...
My Cougar has also a
Stoffler header installed. The sound is now more roaring and yiou can feel
a better performance.
Now I also have the INXX
Type S 17 inch rims. Now in 2004 my Cougar hit the 100.000km barrier. I am not
driving that much anymore. But the last 5 years the Cougar was
very reliable and nice. Also an actual german used car test
said, that the Cougar is reliable and a good car. See a pic
from my 100.000km tachometer shot: > here

Besides that I am planning to buy a real US oldie
together with my brother. We think of a 65-70 Ford Mustang (cabriolet or
Fastback) or a 67 Cougar or a 69-70 Camaro.
Here is nice example of
some Mustangs from Mr. Wierling in germany LOOK

Watch out my Stoffler Dual
exhaust with two 120x80mm tips.
>Listen
to my exhaust (270k)< or >watch
MPEG Movie (1MB)<
My Cougar has also H&R
lowering springs installed now >look
here< . Now my Cougar is lowered 30mm / 1.2inches.All I can say
is that the handling is even better now.
Until today we are just
a few Cougar owners that want to make a german Cougar club.We are not many
but perhaps we can try to build up more contacts to the US and vice versa.
The already very good contacts can be used to get some stuff from the USA.
More to come.. just follow
the Links to my favorites like Mumm Brothers, Michael Marolds Austrian
Cougar Page or you'd like to see really bad crashed Cougars ? Go to Ken's
Homepage...
I also just purchased a
Tamiya 1/10 Scale RC Car and I got a HPI Cougar Body via Ebay )look also
here: Modellbau Röhrmann
). Now I have another scale Model from the Cougar. You may call me nuts,
well, driving a RC Car with a Cougar Body makes fun, If I don't like it
I switch to the Ferrari 360 Modena Body.I also have rims that look just
like my original rims, hehe
Check out the LOOK
links
below. I made some step by step shots of the install of my sidemarkers,
exhaust... Enjoy
